I remember back then
you were always reading
elf quest and the x-men
you were as beautiful
as your name
and my heart was yours
though you never seemed to notice
'twas sad and surreal to me
just like listening to

and that Cure tape
that you gave me
which still takes me back
to those days in the 80s
when everything was right
and nothing was wrong
and the world could change
by the words of a song
maybe it's just nostalgia now
but just maybe somehow
you are out there somewhere
looking back on your life
thinking of a boy who still cares
for a girl who made me
the man that I am today
